A funnel chart helps you visualise a linear process that has sequential connected stages. For example, a sales funnel that tracks customers through stages: Lead > Qualified Lead > Prospect > Contract > Close.

There are two funnel charts available: Standard and Hierarchical. 

Standard

A metric toggle bar is found at the bottom of the report and the visualisation can contain dimensions.

Hierarchical

This funnel visualisation is structured to represent the relationship between metrics in the sequential path.  As a result it cannot be used with any dimensions.
